PAT Math

Here is a snapshot of my Term 4 results for the PAT maths test. I scored points out of 21/35. I am disappointed with my result. My score in Term 4 was 2 points less than Term 1. I went too fast.

PAT Reading Comprehension

Here is a snapshot of my Term 4 results for the PAT comprehension test. I scored 27 points out of 37. I am disappointed with my result. My score in Term 4 was 29 points less than Term 1. I think I went too fast and wasn't careful enough.

Acrostic Poem

Kia Ora
This week we went to the Life Ed program and learnt about our body parts which keep us healthy. So, our teachers decided that we should do some scientific observations of real body organs. We got to sketch and dissect them and some people even ate some that the teacher cooked.
Here is my poem.

Skittle writing

Kia Ora
This week we have been doing another awesome experiment. It involved Skittles and making a rainbow in a bowl of water. We have been also making some writing and we were doing descriptive writing so we had to use our five senses. Here is a picture of my Skittle writing.

5 Senses

This week we have been doing 5 senses writing such as smell, sight, hearing, taste and feeling.

I feel the loneliness of the abandoned ferris wheel and the rundown place around it. The silence is sending shivers down my spine like someone was running a cold sharp knife down it. I could feel the rusted metal and it felt bumpy as though someone had been banging a sledgehammer against it.

Learning how to write reports about a scientific experiment.

Kia ora.
We are having a science fair this term so we needed to learn how to write a report about a scientific experiment. Our teachers chopped a piece of scientific writing into bits and we had to sort them out into the right order. We had to match the structure clues with the correct sentences and paragraphs. It was tricky. When we were finished we used the report to carry out a floating and sinking experiment using Blutack.
The Blutack wouldn’t float unless we squeezed  it into the shape of a boat. It was fun. Here is a picture.
